Good morning JHS students and parents/guardians,
We are exactly two weeks away from the first student day, August 11th, so we want to send some general reminders:
1. Registration: Reminder ALL LSC students must be registered every school year. If you have not done so, please use this link https://www.lsc.k12.in.us/parents/online_registration
2. On-site registration- If you have trouble with the above link and prefer to register in person, you can go to any LSC school on 7/28 (11a-7p) or 7/29 (8a-4p) for assistance. You can register ALL of your children in ANY LSC building.
3. Device deployment- JHS students may attend any of the days and times below, in the JHS main lobby, to receive their new school ID and their electronic device:
Tuesday, August 2nd- 1pm-8pm
Wednesday, August 3rd- 1pm-8pm
Thursday, August 4th- 9am-4pm
Friday, August 5th- 9am-4pm
STUDENTS MUST HAVE COMPLETED ONLINE REGISTRATION PRIOR TO RECEIVING THEIR DEVICE!
4. Student schedules- Student schedules will be available to view in PowerSchool beginning August 2nd. (No paper schedules will be printed.)
5. Schedule changes- Students will have until 8/17 to request schedule changes. All requests must be completed electronically at the following link: Your guidance counselor will then be in contact.
6. Schedule walk- All students are welcome to come in and walk their schedules weekdays from 8a-3p beginning on 8/2. Students are also free to walk their schedules when they attend device deployment.
7. Freshmen and new student orientation- 8/10 from 5:30-6pm in the JHS auditorium, just prior to Open House at 6pm.
8. Open House- JHS Open House is 8/10 from 6-7pm. Families are welcome anytime between 6-7pm to come walk schedules and meet teachers.
9. Lunch and breakfast is no longer free- If appropriate, when completing registration, please complete the free/reduced lunch and breakfast request. Additionally, those that do not receive free/reduced lunch and breakfast should make sure their child’s food account has appropriate funds available. 10. Bus routes and pick-up times- Please visit the LSC transportation web page: https://www.lsc.k12.in.us/departments/transportation
11. School start time- School at JHS begins at 8am and ends at 3:15pm. Doors will open daily at 7:45am.
12. Citybus changes- JHS students no longer need a bus pass to ride Citybus. They simply need to present their JHS ID to the driver.
